I’m very happy to share with you the letter of my colleague Esteban Espinosa Corona:

My name is Esteban Espinosa Corona. I am a last year resident of plastic, aesthetic, and plastic surgery at the “Centro Médico Nacional de Occidente IMSS Hospital” located in Guadalajara , Jalisco , México.
This is a public hospital of a third level of care that has been providing this service for over twenty years, as well as over thirty different specialties. My program consists initially of two years of general surgery and subsequently, four years of plastic and reconstructive surgery, which concludes on February 28th, 2019.
At my current Hospital, we work in a specialized clinic in breast reconstruction. The majority of reconstructive surgeries are deferred breast reconstruction with alloplastic and autologous tissues, which is why i decided to participate in the meeting because will furthermore develop my interest and abilities as well as knowledge to accomplish a better treatment for my patients in the future.
In my country, as well as in the vast majority of countries in Central and South America breast cancer tends to be detected when it’s already at advanced stages; with a very low percentage of breast reconstruction due mainly to economic issues facing the country. I believe it is a great opportunity to be able to help people who are desperately in need of this in my country.
I am very happy on participating on the meeting because my favorite subject about my speciality is Breast Reconstruction, I appreciate the opportunity and I expect with the knowledge acquired I can generate a positive impact in my future and in the future of my patients.
