I’m very happy to share with you the letter of my colleague Emanuela Esposito MD:
Dear All,
I am extremely glad to take part to the Etna Late Spring Meeting 2018.
I am sure that will be a noteworthy event which is going to fulfil my expectations.
As a young breast surgeon I am proud to spend a weekend together with world cancer leaders like Doctor Maurizio Bruno Nava and Doctor Tibor Kovacs, whom I have been honoured to work with in London. Moreover, I am happy to spend time with my friend Nicola Rocco, whose value is appreciated by everyone and with Giuseppe Catanuto whose charisma and leadership are able to catch everyone attention up!

Breast cancer surgery has always been my field of interest and I strongly support the idea that breast cancer patients need to be treated by passionate and dedicated surgeons who not only cure their illness, but care about their health, their body, their mind, their soul…
The European Parliament resolution acknowledges unacceptable differences amongst different countries as well as amongst different cities within the same country in the quality of breast cancer treatment. We should aim to provide women with high degree of confidence and assurance in all processes concerning to all stages of breast cancer care through challenges, comparisons, discussion with the experts which might help to reduce those disparities and improve our own skills.
Thus, I am excited to attend this meeting which will focus on a hot topic in breast cancer management we face in the daily clinical practice. The progression of research has implemented the choice of neoadjuvant therapies which are even more targeted and able to increased the response rate which translates in a tumour downsizing and more conservative surgical procedures.
I am absolutely convinced this meeting would add another brick in the wall of my medical culture.
Cannot wait to see you in Sicily!
