The second GReTA late spring meeting is a week ahead!
A great faculty made by super-seniors, excellent top young medical and clinical oncologists joined a restricted number of senior surgical trainees and junior consultants for two exciting days of talks, discussion and interactions.
As surgeons we must confess that our medical oncology colleagues provided us with such an enormous amount of exquisite biological information that may have changed radically our views on the future of breast cancer treatment.
Risk directed therapy, in vivo assay of response and surgery tailored accordingly (with extreme de-escalation in exceptional responders and extreme escalation in selected metastatic patients) are our take home messages.
Clearly, more efforts towards evidence based observation should be performed from the surgical side.
Many thanks to Carmen Criscitiello for Co-Chairing and bringing this meeting at such an high level.
This is truly multidisciplinary management!
